“Hey there, I hope this isn’t weird, but I’m just wondering why it is you hate men. Personally, I’ve known both awful men and wonderful men, and I don’t think I’d be able to hate the entire group of people. Maybe I’m missing something, but I just don’t see how it’s productive to hate them, when it’ll lead to a further divide and more hate. Like, for example, my boyfriend is wonderful, and he’s helped me through some really hard times. I guess I’m just confused about why you’re a misandrist.” aliapieSo, you come to a blog that is literally filled beginning to present with people talking about how they have been abused by men, raped by men, marginalized by men, belittled by men, and how they have little to no way of talking about this in real life because they will be attacked and silenced for expressing themselves. You see all that, and the only thing you can think of to say is “omg why do you hate men my boyfriend is wonderful! :( :( :(“
Guess what? We don’t live in secret man-hating communes. We must interact with men every day. We may even date them and marry them. They are family and friends. We are well aware of the variety of men out there. But as long as the pain and suffering of women is shoved aside in favor of constructing defenses of men, we are going to advocate for misandry. Someone has to ask “why do men rape?” or “why do men destroy?” instead of sticking our heads in the sand and repeating an unhelpful mantra about how there are good men out there, and we should just deny our anger, because somebody told us it was not “productive”. How is that helpful for those who have been hurt and killed by men?
There are plenty of places to celebrate your boyfriend. There are very few that will acknowledge that there are good reasons to hate, fear, and distrust men.

I pride myself in being a relatively quiet vegetarian. As long as people respect this life choice of mine, I respect theirs. But this really got me, so I had to reblog it.
