Officially landed in Colorado. WOOO. Friends, I’m taking a 4 day leave of absence from my job to do a final push & Get Out The Vote to re-elect the President. While I generally want to vomit when I think about the U.S. two-party system, I support a lot of President Obama’s policies, and I am going to do everything I can in the next 4 days to make sure that Romney is not elected as my next president. Because, guys, real talk: a vote for Romney is a vote to take away my rights. It’s a vote to continue to deny rights to a lot of people. It’s a vote that is fundamentally wrong. Most of you agree with this. I am effectively preaching to the choir, but I’m making a plea to you to make your opinions as public as possible, and encourage any of those unicorn-like “undecided voters” to make the right choice on Tuesday.
My mother demanded that I take a lot of pictures because “This is incredibly important, and you’re going to want to remember it.” So be prepared for an onslaught of photographs, if I remember to do so.
Also, I talked to my mum right before I flew out of Des Moines and she said “OH THANK GOD YOU’RE DOING THIS, I’M GETTING REALLY WORRIED.”
My parents own a small, regular old blue collar business, and they know what candidate will allow their business to flourish for many years to come. They know what candidate allowed my father to afford a life-saving surgery (literally) just today. These aren’t talking points, these are real, human issues.
On Tuesday, vote Obama, and vote for our country to move FORWARD.
